The poem starts
with image of the young boys’ lonely on the flaming deck. All men ran away in
order to save their lives and the flames are surrounding him. The boy Casabianca
was the son of the captain stood boldly and bravely as his father ordered him
to stand here. It looks that he is the creature of the heroic blood, although
he was a little boy.
The flames were
surrounding fast, but he did not escape without his father’s permission. He was
not able to hear the voice of his father anymore and he did not want to believe
that his father had died.
He was calling
him loudly so that he could not know that his task was done or not. But he did
not know that the chief of the ship is unconscious of his son, whom he assigned
a duty at the deck. He cried again and asked if he could leave the deck, as the
flames were moving fast toward him, but he could not find an answer. He was
feeling the heat of the fire on his brows and hairs, but he still was standing
on the deck bravely and despair.
Once again he
shouted loud and asked his father to stand at the deck. The flames of the fire
covered him the sail and the rope was also burning fast. The whole ship was on
fire and the flag which was too high got the fire.
Then the ship
got busted with a thunder sound. The poetess expressed her sorrow in one line;
“The boy. Oh! Where was
he?”
The ship and
the boy disappeared and sea was covered with the broken pieces of ship and certainly
the parts of the boy’s body also. The wind was carrying the ashes and the
particles also. But the poetess considerately saying that, the noblest thing which
was destroyed here was the young faithful heart of the boy.
