CHAPTER 01: PHYSICAL QUANTITIES AND MEASUREMENTS
SCIENCE:
The knowledge
which is obtained through Observation and Experiments is called Science.
Science is
divided into two categories.
1. Physical Science
2.Biological Science
Physical Science deals with the study of non-living things.
In this branch we have Physics, chemistry, Mathematics etc comes.
Biological Science on the other hand deals with the study of Living Things.
In this category Biology, Zoology, Botany etc. comes.
PHYSICS:
v One of the most ancient science
is Physics.
v Physics is defined as;
“Physics is
the branch of science which observe the nature represent it mathematically and
conclude with the experiment.”
v It basically deals with the
behavior and structure of matter and
energy that derives the matter.
v Physics is the branch of natural
science that studies matter, its motion, its behavior through space and time and
the related entities of energy and force.
v Physics is one of the most fundamental scientific disciplines
and its main goal is to understand how the universe behaves.
v The word “Physics” is derived
from ancient Greek word “Physicos” meaning “Knowledge of nature.”
v It is mother of all the sciences.
v Physicists are categorized into those who observe the nature and solve its mysteries with available information and mathematical approach, they are called Theoretical Physicists. Others are interested to test these theories with experiments are called Experimental physicists.
