The Inheritors
SUMMARY
A poor farmer has two sons, named
Azam and Mozzam. Mozzam was younger than Azam.
When their father died, the boys
inherited their property which was consisted of a cow, a date palm tree and a
blanket.
Azam the elder brother was very greedy
and Mozzam the younger brother was very simple and innocent.
Azam suggested that they should
divide the property left by their father. Mozzam agreed and they started to
divide the property.
As elder brother was very clever so
he kept for him better parts of the property and useless parts were given to
his younger brother. For instance the rear part of the cow and the top of the date palm tree and the
blanket at the night was kept by Azam and the front part of cow the trunk and
the blanket the day time was given to Mozzam.
This was injustice Mozzam was very
trust-worthy so he thought that it was fair distribution.
After distribution Mozzam use to feed
the cow and watered the date palm tree and shivered at the night time. On the
other hand Azam milked the cow, eat the dates and use to sleep comfortably at
the night.
An old man then advised Mozzam that
he should be clever too. The advice of the old man had a great affect on Mozzam
and he was became alert.
When Azam comes to milk the cow he disturbed her, when Azam climbed the date palm tree he started to cut the trunk, and when Azam came to take the blanket he soaked it. In this way Mazzam compelled his elder brother to feed the cow, water the tree and use blanket jointly at the night.
